Served is made by Gold Thread. This page says what Served keeps about you, why, who helps us run it, and how to take it with you or delete it. Questions go to support@servedfood.app.
What we keep
Your account: your email address, and your name if you sign in with Google.
What your household puts in: catalogue names, recipes and their photographs, the planner, shopping lists, your pantry, and the notes and ratings you record after cooking.
Imports: the text, page or photograph you import a recipe from, so an import that went wrong can be looked into.
Problem reports: when the app fails, or you tap “this was wrong”, what failed, the app’s version and the screens that led up to it. These never include the recipes themselves.
We do not show advertising, we do not sell your data, and there is no third-party analytics or tracking.
Who can see it
Everything in a catalogue is visible to the people in it, and to nobody else. If you share a recipe as a link, anyone holding that link can read that one recipe and its photograph until you turn the link off — which works straight away.
Who helps us run Served
- Supabase — the database, sign-in and photograph storage.
- PowerSync — keeps a copy of your household’s data on your phone so it works without signal.
- Anthropic — reads what you import (text, pages and photographs) to turn it into a recipe, and estimates nutrition. It processes this to answer our request; under its commercial terms it is not used to train its models.
- Resend — sends sign-in codes and account emails.
- Vercel — hosts this website.
- Expo — delivers app updates to your phone.
- Google — only if you choose to sign in with Google.
Taking it with you
You can export every recipe from the app or this website, at any time, to a file readable without Served.
Deleting it
Deleting your account removes your account, every catalogue you were the only member of with everything in it and its photographs, and your membership of catalogues other people are still in. Those catalogues stay with them. There is no grace period. See Delete your account.
Children
Accounts are for adults. A household may record what its children thought of a dinner; nothing else about them is kept.
Changes
If this page changes in a way that matters, we will say so in the app before it takes effect.
