Served, while it is being tested

Served is made by Gold Thread and is currently invite-only. It is provided as it is, and it will change as we learn from the people using it. We will try hard not to lose anything of yours, and you can export your recipes at any time.

Your recipes are yours

What you put into Served stays yours. You let us store and process it so Served can work — keeping it, syncing it to your household’s phones, reading imports, and showing a recipe you choose to share as a link.

Recipes you import from websites, books or videos belong to their authors. Keep them for your own household’s cooking, and share a link only to recipes you are entitled to share.

Free and Premium

Served is free to use, with monthly limits on the things that cost us money to run — imports, the AI tools and generated pictures. Premium removes or raises those limits and adds cook mode, sharing a catalogue with up to 10 people and up to five catalogues. Premium belongs to a catalogue: everybody in a Premium catalogue has Premium in it, and the person who owns it pays.

A new account starts with a 14-day Premium trial, once per person. When it ends the catalogue goes back to Free unless you have subscribed. Nothing is charged for the trial and nothing is taken away from your recipes, plans or lists when it ends.

Paying, renewing and cancelling

Premium is A$4.99 a month or A$39.99 a year, including GST, unless the price shown at checkout says otherwise. On the website the payment is taken by Stripe, which acts as the seller and handles the tax for your country; in the Android app it is taken by Google Play.

A subscription renews automatically at the end of each period until you cancel. You can cancel at any time: in Served under Settings, on the website, or for an app purchase in Google Play. Premium then carries on until the end of the period you have already paid for, and no further payments are taken.

If we change the price we will tell you before it applies to your next renewal, and you can cancel before then.

Refunds

Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law, including your right to a refund when a service has a major failure. Otherwise, payments for a period that has started are not refunded, but if something has gone wrong write to us and we will put it right. Refunds for purchases made in the app follow Google Play’s refund policy.

Amounts, nutrition and allergens

Served works out amounts, conversions and nutrition from what a recipe says, and marks the amounts it had to guess. They are estimates, not medical or dietary advice. Always check the packets for allergens.

Catalogues other people publish

You can follow a catalogue another household has published. Its recipes are theirs: you can plan, cook and copy them, and the copy is yours to change. A catalogue name is a label its publisher chose, not a promise. Served does not check recipes for allergens or medical suitability — read every label, and check with your doctor or dietitian. Packaged ingredients — stock, sauces, spice mixes — can carry allergens a recipe cannot show. Check every label.

Publishing a catalogue

Publishing is open to Served while it is being tested. Publishing a catalogue, you agree that:

  • Every recipe is yours to publish: your own, written for you, or rewritten in your own words. An ingredient list is facts and can come from anywhere; the words of a method and a photograph belong to whoever made them.
  • The name and description are labels you choose, not promises. You will not word them, or any recipe, as being safe for a diet, an allergy or a condition, or as treating, preventing or being certified for anything.
  • Anybody can follow it, and cook, plan and copy its recipes. They see your household’s name and nothing else about you, and you see how many follow it, never who.
  • What you change reaches everyone who follows it. You can unpublish it at any time, and Served can unpublish one that breaks these terms; either way its recipes leave every follower’s phone, and what they cooked stays in their history.

Publisher terms version 2026-10-04. Each acceptance is recorded with the catalogue and the date.

Using Served fairly

Do not use Served to break the law, to get at somebody else’s household, or to overload the service. We may suspend an account that does.
